One Ocean, One People A Celebration of Pacific Voyaging, Cultures, and Islands

The 2007 Voyages to Micronesia and Japan, scheduled from January to May 2007, will take the Polynesian Voyaging Society canoe Hokule‘a to Satawal, Micronesia, to honor navigator Mau Piailug on his home island.
Hokule‘a will accompany the voyaging canoe Maisu, built by Na Kalai Wa’a Moku o Hawai’i as a gift for Mau in honor of his 30 years of sharing of his traditional knowledge that empowered a revival of Hawaiian and Polynesian canoe building, navigation, and voyaging.
See 2007 Voyage to Micronesia for the sailing route to Micronesia and Palau. From Palau, Hokule‘a will continue on to Japan. (See 2007 Voyage to Japan.)
2007 Voyages Weblog
The weblog will feature daily reports from the crew of Hokule‘a and enables you to share in the special and unique experiences of sailing on a voyaging canoe as it explores Pacific islands on five-month long voyage (January-May 2007). Also new resources and ideas on education will appear here before being moved to the education section under Resources and Ideas.
