A contingent of Ainu, whose homeland is the northern island of Ainu Mosir (Hokkaido), visited Hokule'a on June 16 and performed a prayer ceremony (Kamuinomi). The ainu were led by Mr. Urakawa Haruzo, a respected ekashi(elder) and president of the Tokyo Ainu Society.
