Community Comments and Sharing > About marine vegetable and animal of my hometown in Japan

Hello. My name is Yuko. I am 17years old and a female student. The name of my school is TANABU. I go there everyday.

My hometown is Mutsu City. There are four people in my family. Father, mother, older sister and me. They are very kind. I like them.

About my hometown, vegetables from the sea are very delicious. They are Wakame(soft seaweed), Komb(kelp) and very healthy. I like marine vegetable very much. I like it.

MUTSU city has snow monkeys. They are very cute. Most monkeys live in southern countries. But they live in cold and snowy winter here. Monkeys always eat the vegetable. So farmers are very angry.

So I hope all people eat marine vegetable and famous in the world.

Please let me know about your home town.

Yuko

Aloha oi Yuko-sama, Thank-you so very much for your note of intrest concerning your "lovely" city of Mutsu in Aomori area. We are so glad to hear your story about "kombu"-Veggies from the sea, and the "funny" description of your "snow Monkeys. We live here in Hawaii in the settlements of "Mana'e"-East Ende Molokai. We have one real town to really speak of, actually "Kaunakakai" is more like a modern and traditional "village" our population is up and down- Now approximately 7500 local residents ("Kanaka Ma'oli") and visiting guest, only as short a time as six years, our quaint little town had a poulation of 4500 to 5000. Our Heritage and Culture is very special and close to our Hearts and Minds. We are "warriors" against "Development" that tries to threatened our "God-Given-Special-Lifestyle"... We share and care the "fire" that is in our Hearts, Minds, and Bodies to preserve a "bright" future for our youth with generations yet to come-Now we are dealing with the Powerfull inities of "offshore" comodities and ruthless Singapore Gamblers (Molokai Ranch) that is dividing our community about our "Water-Rights" and the sacredness of Our "Special-Lifestyle-Management-Heritage/Cultrual/Subsistences-Areas like: La'au, Wailau, Mana'e,Kalua Koi,ect. ect. yet we stand together united and firm to "Take-Care" Malama All of Molokai... Yuko-san we look foward to communicate with you again, Please tell us more about your "keep-sakes", the "Kombu" and the cute "Snow Monkeys"... Did you know that Molokai known as the "Friendly Island" is Blessed with the "Highest-Tropical-Seacliffs" in all the world. We express the truth when we say: Yes, Maui may be the best (Maui No Ka Oi), yet "Moloka'i Mo-Bettah"! Me Ke Aloha Pumehana Saito Iruka (jais') "God-Speed" Malama Pono o Molokai/Malama La'au/e Malama i Ke Kai... aloha jmc.
